Click here for details of our exciting programme of online courses and lectures, as well as our Cultural Travels from Home programme of livestream tours and exclusive museum openings, broadcast live from around the world.

Art History in Focus is a tour and event company founded by art historian and lecturer Siân Walters, specialising in courses, lectures and cultural tours. Siân is a highly qualified and experienced tutor and events organiser and lectures regularly for The National Gallery, The Wallace Collection, The Arts Society and many other galleries, colleges and societies. She was a lecturer at Surrey University for many years and in 2016 was named a Highly Commended finalist in the World’s Best Guide Awards. She taught the first online courses for The National Gallery, The Wallace Collection and The Arts Society.

In March 2020 we launched a series of online lectures and courses, followed by a programme of live, interactive broadcasts entitled Cultural Travels from Home. These include visits by special arrangement to major European art galleries allowing live, online access to their collections through guided tours led by expert art historians – from the Doge’s Palace in Venice to the Queen’s Gallery in London.

We are proud to have devised and presented the world’s first ever livestream tours of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice, the Medici Palace in Florence, the Basilica of St Francis in Assisi, the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice, the Brera Art Gallery in Milan, the Palazzo Colonna and Doria Pamphilj Gallery in Rome, the Palazzo Baldeschi in Perugia and very many more. We are delighted to have developed these collaborations which continue to raise important funds for the galleries and cultural sites as well as those working in the cultural sector.

“It was a fantastic experience … a new vision about the museum! I hope to repeat such an exciting event!”  Dr Gabriella Belli, Director, Fondazione Musei Civici, Venice.
