Art History in Focus organises regular study days for small groups throughout the year to coincide with national exhibitions, as well as day trips and visits around the UK.

Picasso at Tate Britain

Picasso was one of the most important influences on British artists such as Henry Moore and David Hockney, and yet there has never been a show dedicated to this subject until now. Siân Walters will be running a study day to coincide with this eagerly anticipated exhibition at Tate Britain, including a preliminary lecture by co-curator Helen Little.

Leonardo da Vinci: Anatomist. Drawings in The Royal Collection

A stunning new exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci’s studies of the human body takes place at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace this summer, and will be the largest ever show dedicated to this area of the artist’s work. Leonardo had wanted to publish a treatise on anatomy and had he done so his discoveries would have transformed European knowledge of the subject, but upon his death his studies remained unknown and unpublished in his studio.

Titian: Metamorphosis

An exciting new collaborative venture between the National Gallery and the Royal Opera House brings together a number of specially commissioned works by contemporary artists and choreographers, inspired by three paintings by Titian depicting stories from Ovid’s poem 'Metamorphoses'.
